About Blitzkriegshop
Blitzkrieg Records is a punk and post punk hub. That said, we have plenty of room for many other genres. Our stock includes Indie, Rap, Reggae, Ska, and many more! We enjoy a laid-back vibe and are always happy to chat, especially to help recommend artists and records.
It all started after I was asked to run a pop-up shop for a friend. In the end he decided not move on, and I was immediately asked if I'd like my own place, doing a pop-up combined art, music and fine art service.
I really am so glad I did it. It's a lot of fun, doing this for a living.
Honestly, It was a complete accident.
I have always been working in and around the industry; running a record label, managing bands, etc. But it all started after I was asked to run a pop-up shop for a friend. In the end he decided not move on, and I was immediately asked if I'd like my own place, doing a pop-up combined art, music and fine art service.
The music side seemed to be really popular, so I branched into it and thus pretty much became a record/music shop with additional features. Due to public interest and demand, we eventually moved to a larger site to expand the service.
I really am so glad I did it. It's a lot of fun, doing this for a living.

The very first record sold here would be the Damned - Machine Gun Etiquette, as well as Hamell on Trial - Tackle Box. Both records were bought by the same customer.
As for the last, it was Glasvegas - Godspeed.
I remember two shops very well, Listen Records and Bruce’s Records in Glasgow. They were my go-to shops for years. The very first single I bought was T-REX - Truck on (Tyke).
As for the first album, it was Pilot - From The Album of the Same Name.
Sister Ray in Soho, London. I’ve always loved their range of records and layout. It’s definitely served as a great inspiration to me over the years!
That has to be the time I won a Dido - No Angel platinum disc from HMV in Glasgow! Although, I was really hoping for trolley dash as a prize…
It’s been great! Record Store Day is very important to us. Being the new kid on the block, we had our first real queue from 5am and the trade was brisk. We had a lot of fun, celebrating with giveaways and some great banter with customers!
I think it has to be David Bowie‘s unofficial 50th at the Hanover Grand on Bond St, London. The capacity was only 300! Possibly just bettered by my first show: T-Rex at the Glasgow Apollo in 1973. I went when I was only 9 years old.
Although I’m not an avid reader, I thoroughly enjoyed Luke Haines 'Bad Vibes: Britpop and my part in it’s downfall.'
Taxi Driver (Martin Scorsese) and Uncle Buck (John Hughes) !
The Clash / Ramones / Damned / Pistols / Bowie / The Strokes / New York Dolls
Ramones / The Clash / Iggy Pop / The Strokes / Glasvegas / Billy No Mates / Amyl and the Sniffers / Sleaford Mods / Jenny Beth / The Runaways / Lou Reed / Hugh Reed / Spyres representing The Young Team
If we're talking long Player, it would have to be David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
