The Cat 107.9FM X Applestump Records
The Cat 107.9FM is putting its support to Record Store Day 2023. The community station for Crewe and Nantwich, along with Applestump Records, is bring the music of participating RSD artists to your radio.
The Cat’s schedule of themed shows commence at 1am and will continue right the way through to 7pm, making 18 hours of programming featuring music from artists supporting RSD, which includes:
· A 6 hour broadcast between 1am & 7am with back to back music from featured acts who are on the RSD list. Presented by Steve Cook, host of “Like Clockwork” The Cat’s alternative music show, and owner of Applestump Records.
· A live 4 hour show from Applestump Records in Nantwich with presenters from The Cat playing tracks from RSD artists, interviewing customers and some live music too.
Wayne Williams, co-ordinator of Record Store Day events on the station said “The Cat is excited to be supporting Applestump Records our local independent store, and Record Store Day 2023. We will be broadcasting all day to new and existing listeners so expect it to be packed with music from acts who are behind this great international event supporting independent record retail. These are special shows that are programmed alongside existing shows on the Saturday, which will also feature music from RSD acts”
Steve Cook who presents “Like Clockwork”, the Cat’s alternative music show, is also the owner of Applestump Records will be one of the voices during the 6 hour show. “Record Store Day is by far our biggest and most important day of the year. After months of preparation, planning, investment and the odd sleepless night Dani, Amy and I are raring to go. It’s been great to have The Cat in our corner during the planning period and we’re delighted to have their support on the day too.” Neil Davis, Executive Director of HR & Events for The Cat added “It is great that we can celebrate Record Store Day in the community and broadcast 4 hours of shows from our local independent record store Applestump Records to support the day.”
